TitleFriends of Haverlands Green, Kirkbampton, Carlisle
DescriptionMinutes, cuttings, correspondence

Background information, as was recorded for the project in 2001:

"The area of land known as Haverlands Green is adjacent to a lay-by on the B5307 road about 1 mile west of Kirkbampton Village. It is designated as "village green" and is amanged by Kirkbampton Parish Council. It is also the main public entrance to Finglandrigg Wood NNR.

People have misused the area by dumping rubbish. The situation was discussed by the Parish Council who, although unable to raise funding themselves, were very supportive of the idea by Allerdale Councillor Jenny Gallagher, that local people should form a small Trust and seek funding to have the Green landscaped. Jenny Gallagher organised a public open meeting in the village and the outcome was the formation of the Haverlands Green Trust. "
