ContextThis body was formed at the bidding of the Society's head office in 1973, and dissolved following shift in direction by Bible House (i.e. Head Office) in 1987. Its main founder in 1973 was the Rev. Neil Gordon-Kerr, a Scottish Episcopal clergyman from Edinburgh who had recently retired to Carlisle. He died in 1978. Purpose of the Council was to inform the local groups' officers of current work, by speakers from district or national level.
