In 2001, it was sponsored by Cumbria County Council, Copeland Borough Council, The Whitehaven News, UKAEA, BNFL, UCB Films and Whitehaven Development Company. The event organiser for 1999 was Richmond Event Management and for the 2001 and 2003 festivals, it was a company called Rhythm of Life.

By 2005, it was renamed the Whitehaven International Maritime Festival and Eddie Stobart was a partner.
ArrangementThe accession was arranged in four lever arch files, two labelled 2001 and two labelled 2003. One contained meeting notes from 1999, when the first festival took place.
