DescriptionMinutes, correspondence, financial records
ContextThe West Cumberland Technical Societies (WCTS) was established in 1964 to coordinate and publicise the activities of affiliated societies in west Cumberland, and so enable the membership of these societies to make maximum use of the total resources. As part of this, the WCTS published an annual booklet, and organised an annual prestige lecture, which became known as the Allerdale Wyld lecture in 1967, dedicated to the memory of Lawrence `Jimmy' Wyld, a local educationalist. The WCTS was wound up in 1996.
